Jacksonville Municipal Stadium In Miniature

I took this photo on April 4, 2009 a few hours before the start of an AMA Supercross event at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium in Jacksonville, FL. It’s getting a few likes on my Flickr account so I’m awarding it a post of its own.
This of course is not a model of the stadium, but simply a photograph with a tiltshift effect applied.
You can make your own at http://tiltshiftmaker.com/ , and you don’t need a bafrillion dollar DSLR camera to achieve good results. This photo was taken with a cell phone.
I’ve found that the effect works best on photos that are “busy”. They need to have lots of interesting things going on. Not just people necessarily, but other things interesting to the eye like trees, landscapes, large machines or the hills and valleys of a dirt bike track.
[Update] 04-08-09: Jacksonville Confidential posted the photo along with some video from the event!

I love that tool. I created one from a White House photo that I took a couple of summers ago…
